POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Relations Specialist is responsible for providing support to the AdFarm Public Relations team, including the Senior Public Relations Specialists and the Public Relations Director. The Public Relations Specialist will work within a multidisciplinary team of agency professionals, sharing a goal of successfully achieving client satisfaction, business unit profitability, team functionality and performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The key roles and tasks of the Public Relations Specialist include:
Provide support and assist in the implementation of public relations services as requested by Senior Public Relations Specialists on applicable client accounts:
- Writing
- Event Coordination
- Public Relations Project Management
- AdFarm promotion
- Media Material Distribution
- Filing
- Coordinating Public Relations efforts with other Public Relations Specialist(s)– global AdFarm
- Developing media and key influencer lists
- Monitoring of key industry issues
- Develop, manage and measure PR programs/campaigns that support the continued growth of the Team Lead’s account.
- Bring energy, determination and drive to AdFarm’s media relations to produce strong result-oriented initiatives.
- Develop press releases, talking points, presentations and other communications materials.
- Works in conjunction with Online Marketing to implement social networking elements of the global PR plan, assist with editing the company blog, etc.
- As required develops all types of marketing content and collateral.
- Other tasks as requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree or qualification in public relations, communications or a related field.
- At least three years experience in Public Relations
- Demonstrated knowledge of agricultural media (print, broadcast, industry events/tradeshows, interactive, internet, etc) would be an asset
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Base knowledge of agricultural industry and its key players would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of, and interest in, public relations.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to take direction and to multi-task.
- Strong news and commercial writing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work well as a team player
