The Public Sector practice of PwC is a fast growing, focused organization that is a trusted advisor providing business advisory and assurance services to the Federal Government. We are engaged in some of the Government’s most difficult challenges.

We are at work with every cabinet agency providing project management, business and financial planning for the Department of Defense, advising on data security, threat and vulnerability management for the Department of Homeland Security, and consulting on human capital and succession issues for the Internal Revenue Service.

PwC delivers premier management consulting services to the Federal Government using what we term the Auditors’ Lens™ to enable government agencies, their key programs and their leadership to achieve transparency, accountability and operational effectiveness.

As a team member of our Consulting practice, you will provide advisory services focused on implementing process improvement solutions that strengthen accountability, and promote effective financial processes and procedures at Fortune 500 organizations. Financial Management team members identify, assess, analyze and mitigate some of the most significant financial issues these organizations. Project work may include involvement with financial process improvement, financial alignment with organizational goals, and enterprise-wide finance transformation. .

As a member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory team, you will join professionals with unparalleled financial and accounting expertise, knowledge of business processes, industry insight and technology, and customer relationship skills. Through our capabilities in these areas, we assist our clients in translating strategy into action.
Knowledge Preferred:

Considerable knowledge advising federal organizations on improving efficiency and effectiveness related to financial management, federal budgeting, internal/external reporting requirements and federal laws and regulations.

Considerable knowledge in at least one of the following focus areas: grants management, federal reporting requirements, federal laws and regulations related to financial management (FFMIA, FMFIA), federal financial IT systems and requirements .

Considerable functional knowledge of business intelligence and performance management software tools.

Skills Preferred:

Considerable experience and the ability to analyze detailed finance and accounting processes to identify improvement opportunities. Ability to simplify complex processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency to meet federal requirements. Exposure to developing business in the federal environment.

Demonstrated experience identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of Firm services; managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues.

Demonstrated experience as a team leader: creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and keeping leadership informed of progress and issues.

Considerable knowledge of federal financial accounting standards, and regulations such as FFMIA, FMFIA are preferred.

Minimum Degree(s) and Certification(s) Required:

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance or Accounting required. Masters of Business Administration preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification preferred.
Position requires an active TS Federal Security clearance.
