Agrium Advanced Technologies, a decentralized Strategic Business Unit of Agrium, is currently recruiting for the following position located in Loveland, Colorado:

Purchasing Analyst

  1. The individual selected for this position will regularly interface with Plant Managers and Supervisors, Marketing Managers, Production Planner, Plant Purchasing Reps, Plant Shipping group, and our Suppliers. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Will schedule and coordinate the production volumes at each plant and tie it with the production plan
• Assess purchasing requirements on a weekly/monthly/quarterly cycle based on the production plan and address purchasing requirements for each plant for all raw materials

• Arrange, coordinate and track all inbound transportation requirements for all raw materials
• Coordinate movement of all purchased materials from suppliers to the plants and address any supply/supplier issues
• Support the Purchasing Manager on operational projects as needed

• Requires strong experience with MS Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Prior experience working with SAP or Ross ERP systems is a plus
• Demonstrated strong planning, problem solving, and organizational skills

• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities to include working with product forecasts
• Strong Negotiation skills
• Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and travel up to 15% of the time

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing production/purchasing role, ideally within the fertilizer, pesticide, or chemical industry

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Accounting (or 4 years of additional relevant work experience)

• Experience working with vendors to set up purchase orders and coordinating product deliveries

• Experience working with carriers (all modes – Rail, truck, marine)
