This position is responsible for overseeing all the purchasing activities within the Consumer Lighting group (Wellsboro, PA; St. Marys, PA; Winchester, KY; and York, PA plants).
This Purchasing Manager will:
- Develop and implement procurement plans to support forecasted needs for all services, MRO and production raw material.
- Assure the maximum use of OSRAM’s contract suppliers.
- Implement programs to ensure expected ADP and purchasing productivity objectives
- Negotiate and create long term contracts as necessary with support from legal
- Negotiate capital equipment purchases with specification support from our internal equipment development, manufacturing engineering
groups.
- Employ and support the resources of continental and Global Commodity Business Managers in order to pool and leverage purchases throughout the organization as well as develop new sources in low cost countries. Participate as a member in commodity business teams.
- Update company databases (Pumas, Click for Suppliers for active supplier management, etc) as assigned for the locations.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of information necessary for budgeting process.
- Ensure purchasing tools such as on-line bidding are extensively used
- Assigns, directs and audits delegates at the locations to ensure compliance for both inbound as well as outbound requirements. Participate as a member of the Export Controls and Compliance team.
- Analyze budget targets and derive purchasing plans to meet objectives.
- Maintain proper controls to ensure elimination of all maverick spending.
- Ensure that all processes are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
This person reports to the OSRAM Senior Director of Purchasing for North America.
You will contribute to development of new concepts, techniques standards. You'll develop solutions to complex problems which require regular use of ingenuity and innovation. You will be considered expert in field within the organization.
Requirements:
- BS/BA required - Minimum of 10 years of commodity purchasing or very related experience required.
- Detailed purchasing background necessary,
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) desired.
- Supervisory and team building experience needed
Preferred skills/attributes:
5 years of formal management experience
MBA preferred
