Our client in northern York Region is hiring a Purchasing Manager/Buyer for a permanent position. We are seeking out a candidate with a minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in both raw materials and components for this international manufacturing organization. Candidates possessing their PMAC certification are preferred, however those with the other required qualifications will be considered. Experience in inventory management is also required for this role.
In this role you will be required to manage the day to day purchasing of materials and components. Also key is your background in inventory management. This organization carries a wide variety of inventory with both short and long lead times. Proven background with inventory control and cost controls will be key to the success in this role. The other main expectation will be to fairly negotiate pricing with suppliers including finding areas for cost savings by utilizing volume rebates for example. Additionally, the ability to look at existing purchasing methods and using your experience to offer new processes to improve efficiencies will be a longer term goal once in this position.
