Job Function
The eCommerce QA team is responsible for all testing activities for a new cross-product Online trading application. Team members cover a variety of roles including test management and coordination, business analysis, test design and test execution. The eCommerce IT team utilise agile methodologies with testing occurring throughout the lifecycle, iteration by iteration with a strong emphasis on automated testing and short release cycles.
Your job will involve:
Environment Configuration Management and Support
*Supporting all end to end eCommerce dev, test, performance, uat and demo test environments.
*Ensure test environments access is locked down as appropriate.
*Deploying new build versions to test environments including managing the dependencies of services and builds.
*Automation of deployment process to test environments where possible, in coordination with Dev teams as needed.
*Troubleshoot technical issues with software configuration /set-up in new environments.
*Ensuring that accurate configuration data is maintained for all supported environments.
*Ensuring that development handovers comply with configuration management policy
*Coordination with central infrastructure teams as needed for any test environment matters including any future hardware acquisitions and upgrades
*Contributing to the development of standards and policies for environment maintenance and administration.
*Support complex integration testing with multiple systems and teams around the globe.
*Ensuring that technical and user release notes are maintained and that new builds are signed off and approved as appropriate.
*Support our version control processes in line with Release Management plans
*Coordination with and assistance to the production support team on any matters concerning the production and contingency environments.
*Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
It would be desirable for the candidate to have:
§Previous experience of ITIL Service Management (Foundation or Practitioner certificate)
§Ability to develop technical scripts to deploy all applications and solutions
§Experience of deployment automation tools (esp, BMC BladeLogic)
§Previous experience of maintaining and using a CMDB
§Previous experience working on a front office trading application
§Knowledge of messaging systems (MQ, Solace, Tibco etc)
§A good understanding of messaging protocols (FIX, Swift, XML, FpML, TOF, proprietary etc)
§Knowledge of scripting (VB, VBScript, Shell, Perl etc)
§Some experience of maintaining build scripts using Ant, Maven
You must be highly motivated with an eye for detail, strong communication skills and a track record of delivering successful projects into production.
