The Queensland Association of Independent Legal Services (QAILS) is the state based peak body for Queensland’s 32 Community Legal Centres (CLCs).  Queensland’s CLCs provide a diverse range of free legal advice, law reform advocacy and casework services to tens of thousands of disadvantaged Queenslanders each year, and are an important component of Queensland’s legal and social infrastructure.

 

QAILS works towards the following objectives:

·         to promote the development of community legal centres.

·         to enhance communication and cooperation between community legal centres.

·         to secure and develop funding for community legal centres.

·         to represent the interests and opinions of members.

 

 

Director

 

Expressions of interest are called for the newly created position of QAILS Director.

 

The Director will bring their enthusiasm for realising the potential of the non-profit sector to lead a small team in the newly established State Office, and will be responsible for the representation of QAILS to government, funding bodies, and other legal sector agencies; overall financial and organisational management and the implementation of the State Office Work Plan.

Salary:               Level 8 Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010
