Kelly Scientific has a QC Microbiologist opening with a Nutraceutical company. Hours: Saturday/Sunday from 8 am ? 5 pm and three days during the week from 5 pm ? 1:30 pm Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Microbiology Technician with Microbial Limits Test (MLT), such as plating, streaking, performing MPN, incubating, and identifying and counting. Prepare all broth for MLT analysis and perform all associated testing, including Growth Promotion Test. Purchase all prepared agar media for MLT analysis as well as necessary equipment, supplies, and inventory for QC Microbiology. Maintain Water Purification system. Maintain all equipments in the QC Microbiology Laboratory including scheduled maintenance, calibration, necessary daily checks, etc. Develop, modify, and maintain appropriate, applicable, and necessary SOPs and test methods for QC Microbiology. Serve as back-up in the absence of the Microbiology Technician and have the knowledge to perform their duties. Develop and maintain seed-stock colonies for positive control as well as control transfers from ATCC stock strains. Practice high quality Aseptic Techniques at all times Education: · A minimum of Bachelor?s degree in Microbiology (or related field dependent on degree of experience).
