QI & FATCA Manager, Global Private Banking recruitment
An international, green-fields opportunity has become available for an experienced operational tax professional with strong knowledge of the US QI FATCA regulations. Reporting to the Head of Tax for Global Private Banking, key responsibilities of this role will include:
- To proactively advise upon and manage, in line with best practice and under the direction of the Head of Tax GPB, the worldwide implementation of the necessary procedures and processes regarding the identification, tax treatment and reporting of clients impacted by the U.S Qualified Intermediary (“QI”) and FATCA regimes for all GPB businesses. In a time of increasing regulatory challenge coupled with changing and competing business imperatives including the matrixed nature of the business, the jobholder will be required to engage business and functional stakeholders in this process. Specifically, the job holder is to:
- Centrally monitor and assess tax risks of the GPB entities worldwide in relation to QI FATCA and to direct day to day response to same;
- Lead periodic reviews of GPB procedures and business activities regarding QI FATCA to assess risk and identify areas for resolution,
- Build and maintain relationships with senior management to establish and communicate priorities in this area based on review and changing regulatory environments;
- Develop and implement a programme of routine assurance monitoring the effectiveness of procedures in this area; and
- Provide expert tax technical advice and support on QI and FATCA to all GPB businesses
To be considered for this role, you will ideally be a qualified tax professional and have a significant amount of post qualification tax experience, gained either within a corporate or professional services environment. You will have experience of the US Qualified Intermediary program, FATCA and operational taxes generally. Experience of the private banking sector is desirable. Strong communication and relationship management skills will be prerequisite.
