We are currently seeking a highly qualified Quality Management Systems Manager to join our Quality Assurance Department in Franklin Park, Illinois. This position is accountable for all Quality Assurance activities for USSTMC-Franklin Park, IL. Monitors product and process conformance to specifications in every phase of the manufacturing process and ensures process assurance systems and procedures are in place for process integrity. The position is responsible for leading and driving quality initiatives to improve performance through proactive analysis. The successful candidate will direct the overall operations of the Quality Assurance function, develop and implement overall business strategies and objectives for both short and long-term, to ensure continuous improvement in productivity, quality, safety, and cost. Develops and manages Operating and Capital budgets. Specific accountabilities include: Ensuring conformance to process/product specifications by directing the sampling, testing, auditing, and inspection of outputs from Manufacturing Analyzing, evaluating, and making disposition on out-of-specification tobacco, flavors, direct materials, and finished product Evaluating and instituting appropriate process assurance systems and procedures, monitor adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and perform sanitation audits, communicate specification changes and brand introductions, coordinate testing of changes to product components and processes and perform system audits to assure conformance to proper procedures Analyzing process and production data and providing direction and focus for continuous improvement efforts, target, prioritize, and provide recommendations to resolve product quality issues, direct statistical analysis and lead and participate on teams Providing resident expertise, in support of manufacturing requirements, assuring that radioactive sources are handled, tracked, and stored in compliance with NRC requirements Providing advanced scientific knowledge in the areas of chemistry, microbiology, and smokeless technology to assist in diagnosing and resolving process or product issues and special testing requirements Directing the Quality Assurance workforce and Department teams, selects, develops, motivates, and evaluates the performance of departmental personnel; develops and implements short and long-range human resources plans, effective labor/management relations contract adherenceQualifications include: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Math or Science, Master's degree in Business is desired Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred A complete and thorough understanding of company business plans and objectives is required to perform successfully in this position The incumbent must be highly resourceful in detecting trends, problems, and opportunities for improvements from complex information Knowledge and understanding of various legal and regulatory requirements, specifically FDA, EPA, and OSHA, is required Must possess strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative This position has the responsibility and wide latitude to make the necessary decisions to ensure effective operation of the Quality Assurance function and continuous improvement in quality and productivity The incumbent is responsible for making recommendations regarding quality issues based on rigorous analysis of production data, and to direct and drive quality initiatives Work is generally limited to an office environment, with occasional trips in the manufacturing/processing environment At US Smokeless Tobacco Manufacturing Company, we recognize that our people are the reason we achieve our business goals.
