Quality Assurance Manager--Construction Industry

 

 

Our company is a fast-growing, Pacific Northwest construction leader in full mechanical systems installation.  Based in beautiful Portland, Oregon; our company is a medium-sized, locally owned, mechanical contractor that has been in operation since 1953. Our expertise includes pipe fitting, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sheet metal/pipe fabrication for the commercial, industrial, medical, data centers and high technology industries.  Our company has a demonstrated track record in the construction industry and worked with many prominent companies such as Intel, Google, Nike, Adidas, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy, Providence, OHSU, Wells Fargo and many others.

 

 

Position Description

 

Our company is seeking a quality assurance professional that will be responsible for the quality and workmanship of products and services provided by company in meeting or exceeding industry standards, construction codes and customer specifications defined in project documentation.

 

Key accountabilities:

Accountable for ensuring quality standards and processes for product produced by TCM fabrication shops

Personnel performing tasks in field are Licensed Qualified to relevant procedure

Accountable for quality and testing of field installations and compliance to codes, specifications, etc. required for the project

Accountable for generation of jobsite logs and training of field supervision to ensure compliance to quality standards

Accountable for oversight of specific training of TCM employees to ensure understanding and adherence to code requirements

Accountable for oversight of QC personnel in the course of their work

Accountable for protecting TCM from risk associated with regulatory, warranty issues.

 

Build relationships with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and field employees to establish trust and open lines of communication.

Assist Project Managers, Superintendents and Foremen in implementation of best work practices.

Identifies the need for training, communicate the expectation, and ensure that TCM supervisory personnel are provided an introduction to TCM QA/QC systems and their role within these systems. Provide or verify that identified training needs have been satisfactorily addressed.

Ensures current copies of relevant Codes and Standards are accessible to TCM employees and assistance in interpretation is available.

Non-conformance reports developed and finalized

Code stamps maintained and QC Manual implemented

Training plans identified and completed

Well-functioning department

Permits filed and requirements met

 

 

Skills/Competencies

 

Professional certification: AWS – Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

8-10 years construction or industrial experience in quality functions

Demonstrates and displays honesty, integrity and personal accountability.

Experience in formulating quality policy, and developing and implementing new processes and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base Salary Range   $70,000-85,000
