Horizon Oil Sands
Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth.  Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil.  We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d.  Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
* Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray

Position Summary

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The QA Lead will utilize their skills to continuously define, develop, and review the maintenance of the project QA program in the Ore Preparation Plant and Hydrotransport Pipeline.  The Lead will provide overall leadership (i.e. plan, organize and direct QA personnel) to both Horizon staff and/or contracted resources, during the project to effectively undertake various quality functions.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
* Act as a key part of the overall Horizon Project Management Team, working closely with many diverse disciplines including project managers, purchasing, engineering, operations, maintenance and contractors
* Identify and author project quality policies and procedures and lead on them through implementation
* Manage the performance of compliance audits, both internally and externally, to verify conformance with the Horizon project quality requirements
* Assist in the maintenance of a database which tracks all quality records, and any other technical records as required to support reliability and integrity efforts
* Resolve day-to-day QA issues as they arise
* Report on QA issues to management
* Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement to influence the overall success of the project
* Lead the implementation and administration of quality assurance while continuously monitoring programs/procedures
* Provide guidance and expertise in the utilization of various Inspection Technologies and application of industry codes and Horizon Standards
* Provide guidance on application of industry codes and Horizon Standards
* Implement Audit Program to measure quality performance of contractor and suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Typically 15+ years of industry experience with Technician or Technologist certification
* Alberta In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspection certification preferred
* Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Working operating plant performing an in-service inspection function to written standards and procedures within an Owner-User Program and ensuring compliance to industry standards and government regulations
   o CGSB NDT level II, CWB Level II, API 570/510, and National Board Owner-User commission
   o Working with technical written work related documents, including engineered drawings and Bills of Materials
