POSITION TITLE: Quality Control Inspector
Summary: This position reports to the Quality Manager and shall perform receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with established work orders and Quality Management System requirements.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensure that processed hardware meets or exceed all applicable requirements.
2. Inspect product to blueprint, engineering drawings and/or work orders.
3. Verify supplier certifications meets TVT purchase order requirements.
4. Perform verification of product identification.
5. Carry out surface plate inspection and lay-out setups.
6. Perform complete visual inspection of received, in-process and end items.
7. Accept items that meet the requirements and reject those that do not conform.
8. Initiate rejection reports.
9. Maintain records and documentation of inspection as required.
10. Able to read and understand furnace strip chart.
11. Perform hardness testing inspection.
12. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
13. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
2. Ability to use inspection hand tools including but not limited to micrometers, callipers, height gages, optical comparator, surface roughness finish, surface plate, profilometer.
3. Speak, read and write English.
4. Effectively communicate with all departments.
5. Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Working Conditions: This position takes place in a normal inspection/ office environment and may communicate with the shop floor as deemed necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 2 years experience in inspection of manufactured hardware.
3. Experience with blueprints, engineering drawings and inspection hand tools.
4. Familiarity with hardness testing inspection.
