Job Title: Quality Control Inspector / Technician

Location: Belfast

Sector: Warehousing and Distribution

Salary: £16,000 - £19,000

Responsible for: Meeting the requirements of the company's Quality, Health Safety and Environmental systems

Responsible to: Area Technical Manager

Principle Activities:

- Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of all inspection gauging and test equipment.
- To liaise with suppliers on rejected material and seek corrective actions to eliminate the highlighted quality issue.
- To accept incoming materials or reject stock from any source that is deemed not to meet customer requirements.
- Ensuring quick investigation into quality problems, escalating concerns to line manager as required.
- To produce ISIR/PPAP reports where required and ensure that accurate data is maintained.
- To inspect goods to all applicable drawings, standards and specific quality documentation/plans.
- To review supplier ISIR and PPAP documentation in respect to new parts and supplier resource activities.
- To support internal audits with TS internal auditors when requested to meet the branch internal audit schedule.
- Liaise with customer and supplier representatives, with a view to furthering quality improvements.
- Participate in cost reduction programs in relation to SCD completion, sample evaluation and database updates.

- To liaise with all customer departments on general quality issues or complaints.
- Customer contact for quality issues, the investigation of problem parts and the closure of customer complaints.
- Represent the interests of the company in meetings with customers and suppliers.
- Be aware of and comply with the contractual agreement with the customer.

- Recognise the importance of good health and safety practice.
- Ensure that working conditions and the use of resources satisfy current legislation, approved codes of practice and organisational requirements.
- Ensure accidents and near misses are reported.
- Ensure that potential or actual breaches of requirements are identified; properly reported and appropriate action is taken.
- Participation and compilation on the various risk assessment activities as per the company?s management program.
