We are hiring a Quality Engineer for our
- Develop, Document, Verify, Implement and maintain effective Product Validation test plans and procedures for all Lincolnshire site Lines of Business based on product CTQs / engineering specifications and marketing requirements.
- Perform Product Validation testing in accordance with approved test plans and procedures, including mechanical, electrical, chemical, and functional tests.
- Record results of testing in appropriate format using approved tools and systems, and analyze results in terms of the products' fitness for purpose and conformance to requirements of the Product Development Plan and Quality Plan for the NPI project under consideration.
- Prepare test report on behalf of the PV team and advise management of any and all failure modes encountered in testing.
- Prepare laboratory setups and recommend special gas generation techniques as needed for executing P.V. test plans.
- Arrange sourcing of materials and supplies needed for PV lab testing, including test gas, regulators, tubing, hand tools, batteries, instruments, etc.
- Serve as Quality member of NPI project team for assigned projects, to coordinate with RD team members and to work closely with the Project Manager to drive Quality Plan deliverables.
- Assist PV team in maintaining a safe and healthy laboratory environment in accordance with HSE procedures and guidelines.
- Support site HOS plans by maintaining standards of 5S, visual management, standard work, continuous improvement, and rapid problem solving in the PV lab environment.
- Other general assistance as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3 years of experience in a technical role for a manufacturing company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, preferably in electrical engineering.
- Experience in a technical role for a manufacturing company, preferably a low volume, high mix environment using a Toyota Production System-type operating model.
- Knowledge of and experience with handling toxic and flammable gases for equipment calibration, servicing, and/or test.
- Product knowledge in the gas detection instruments field a plus.
- Strong Analytical skills
- Experience with standard office applications - Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, ACCESS, PROJECT, etc.
- Ability to generate test reports with appropriate calculations, tables, and graphs.
- Facility with advanced Quality and reliability software, such as MINITAB, ITEMSOFT, ALTA, etc. is a plus.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and analysis.
- Solid multitasking skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in priorities.
