Quality Engineer
This person must be degreed.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Integrate new parts into the quality system, working with customers, engineering, manufacturing and the quality department.
• Plans and execute activities related to the development, application and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into finished materials or product.
• Prepare the First Article and SOURCE SUBSTANTIATION package for Quality Manager and customer review.
• Work with Purchasing in developing purchase orders with First Article of SOURCE SUBSTANTIATION requirements.
• Develop and analyze statistical data and specifications to indicate present product and process standards, and establish proposed quality reliability expectancy of finished product.
• Investigate and provide solutions to problems for processes and product non-conformance.
• Perform quality audits of processes, products and workstations within the Company.  Perform quality audits of suppliers and potential suppliers.
• Create statistical quality systems, such as trend analysis to control and/or improve processes.
• Make decisions that could cause/prevent program or product delays and affect costs and overall system quality.
• Performs other duties as required.
Essential Functions of Position:

Interpersonal Skills
• Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel at the division including management, quality, manufacturing, sales and other engineers.  Also customers, vendors and external auditors.
• Possess the ability to work through conflict issues in a timely and effective manner..
Communication
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively develop work instructions, solutions to problems, and reports for all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers.
Scheduling and Planning
• Must be able to manage multiple projects. 
• Must be able to prioritize assigned tasks and manage individual work time amidst required meetings to obtain maximum efficiency and productivity.
Physical Effort
• Time will be spent between working in an office environment at computer terminal and the manufacturing floor.  Must be able to operate freely in the manufacturing area as well.  Travel to conferences, customers, and vendors may be required via airplane or automobile. 
Working Conditions
• Manufacturing and office environment.

This person must be a degreed quality engineer with 7-10 years of well-referenced successful experience in a Quality-engineering role.  This person will audit existing quality assurance processes for this company which consists of a “job shop’ type environment doing brazing, annealing, stamping, forming, welding, punching, and fabricating/assembling parts for the aerospace industry.  This person must bring references from the aerospace industry that demonstrates this person’s ability to apply, create new applications/projects for quality improvement processes, implement these processes, audit, and maintain ISO, QS certifications.  Performing successfully in this role is essential.
