Glovis Georgia is an intergrated logistics company located in West Point, Georgia. Glovis provides warehouse management services to Kia Manufacturing Motors in West Point. We currently have an opening for a Quality Specialist on our evening shift.
Minium Skills:
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree preferred (will consider degree in lieu of experience)
- If no degree will need to have 3-5 years experience in the Supplier Quality Field in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with handling quality issues and following established processes until resolution is completed.
- Ability to work with outside vendors to coordinate part sorts and identify and correct quality issues.
- Must have strong analytical and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint including the ability to create reports, graphs and detailed work instructions.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed in response to customer quality issues.
- Proven ability to prioritize and work through multiple issues within a timely manner.
- Must be able to function and adapt to an ever changing environment.
- Ability to ben and lift up to 30 lbs on a continuous basis.
- Be able to stand and walk for extended length and periods of time over a large warehouse area.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and written.
- Must be a creative and critical thinker.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SAP or other quality reporting systems.
Job Description:
Assist Quality manager in facilitating, managing and tracking quality issues. Assisting with the managing of and reporting on supplier quality issues, providing the organization with regular objective evidence of supplier performance and improvements, leading proactive strategies regarding supplier quality improvement, maintaining and evolving the supplier tracking system to meet the on-going needs of the organization, assisting with the supplier escalation process, and working with other departments regarding Supplier Quality Activities. Shift hours will be 8:30 pm - 6:30 am with overtime as needed. Applicants must include all necessary information to enable employer to reference employment history.
