Quality Team Project Lead – Southampton

Hays Healthcare is working with NHS Southampton to recruit a Quality Team Project Lead for a six month fixed term contract.

Summary of Responsibilities:

As part of the Quality team, the post holder will be responsible for leading on projects as agreed with the Director of Nursing and Quality (DoNQ). These projects will be primarily leading on Safer Staffing and Revalidation Programmes.
The post holder will also be required to support the CQC visit scheduled for 17/03/2014

Main Duties:

· To work in partnership with the Nursing, Quality and Service line clinical teams to deliver projects.
· To lead the implementation and development of the identified projects to achieve successful and effective outcomes.
· Work with clinical leads to identify plans based on demand and acuity to create local staffing plans, escalation processes and development plans.
· To research and identify Nursing Revalidation systems and processes.
· Planning towards procurement and implementation of systems where appropriate
· To support staff during projects and to take the initiative on change and in shared decision making to enable a “bottom up change” culture.
· To manage sensitively the relationships between clinical, management and the programme objectives where there might be conflicting priorities.
· To use effective communication skills where tact, sensitivity and empathy are required in order to achieve successful outcomes.
· To influence and motivate teams to develop, adapt and measure the impact of new ways of working to improve service quality and deliver improved performance.
· To report regularly as required on the progress of projects, risks, issues and their mitigation.
· To compile and write reports on progress and evidence of change as required.

Person Specification:

· Clinical qualification / Band 8a and above
· Experience of working in community health settings
· Experience of working in mental health settings
· An expert knowledge of patient safety in a health setting
· Experience of working across health sectors
· Programme management experience
· Programme management qualifications (desirable)
· Ability to research and analyse statistical data
· Ability to write high quality reports
· Ability to meet deadlines
