SP Capital IQ fund research are currently recruiting for an individual to join us in London as maternity cover, to be responsible for the day-to-day quantitative analysis requirements supporting the Fund Research team.
Responsibilities:
The quant team processes large amounts of fund performance data each month, covering all funds distributed in European, Asian and Middle Eastern markets - nearly 50,000 in all. The quantitative work is used to screen funds for coverage in the Fund Research (FR) process. It is therefore vital that it be carried out accurately, as both existing and future business will be at risk if it is not. Existing clients may have their funds excluded from coverage erroneously, while potential new clients may be missed.
The quant team also supplies data that is included in Fund Research's qualitative fund reports, which cover over 1000 rated funds and form most of our annual revenues.
- Production of Thomson Reuters style analysis reports
- Creation of manual quants and charts for reports
- Generation of quantitative data for reports and external clients
- Ad-hoc quantitative analysis and screening
- Maintenance of the SP quantitative database Qualifications
Skills
Qualifications:
- A background in funds, investment management and a basic understanding of the financial markets and Modern Portfolio Theory is an advantage.
- Experience in a directly relevant and comparable position is a prerequisite.
- Attention to detail is of the utmost importance.
- Problem-solving skills are crucial as well as being creative and able to communicate ideas visually, verbally, and in writing.
- Experience using Bloomberg is beneficial.
