Position Description:
The Market Modeling Team supports Morgan Stanley's securities trading business by creating mathematical models and software tools to predict the future evolution of different markets and price and risk-manage various financial products. The Budapest Market Modeling Team is expanding to support the Residential Whole Loan business, Residential Conduit business and Residential Mortgage Warehouse business and we are currently looking to establish an Analytics team for this effort. The main goal of the new team is to help the trading desks with model implementation and model integration tasks; hence, these positions will provide an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the mathematical models and software technologies used in the residential mortgage businesses.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile for the Residential Mortgage Analytics team:

Responsibilities:
• Determine and create the valuation and risk management models that will feed the firm’s books and records for positions that are currently on the books or about to be purchased or bid upon.
• Creating models that the desk will use to drive trading decisions
• Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of current valuation and risk models and championing and enacting new developments as needed
• Acquire necessary business knowledge to complete the tasks
• Be open to learn and apply new technologies and programming languages

Skills Required:
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or similar quantitative area
• At least 2 years of programming experience in C++ (or other widely used object-oriented language) for experienced candidates
• Academic software project experience in C++ (or other widely used object-oriented language) for entry-level candidates
• Comfortable working in a Linux-based development environment
• Affinity towards mathematics
• Confident command of English
• Ability to understand all aspects of a multicultural environment

Skills Desired:
• Experience in Q or Perl
• Experience with databases
