An opportunity has arisen for a RAD Developer (C#, Sybase, SQL Server, Excel VBA/ Java / Middle Office) to work for a leading Investment Bank based in London. The Equity Middle Office RAD team supports the management and development of tactical applications to the Global Equity Derivatives and the Cash Equity Middle Office business through a RAD approach. Applications involve Reconciliation tools, MIS reporting, Regulatory reporting tools and some overnight batch processes. The focus of the group is the delivery of innovative, quick time-to-market technology, to assist the business in maximising their operational efficiency and providing exceptional service to our clients.

The application stack uses a range of technologies including Java, C#/.net, C++, and Sybase/SQL on Windows and Linux platforms. 

Role

The role of RAD Developer (C#, Sybase, SQL Server, Excel VBA/ Java / Middle Office) is responsible for delivery and implementation of short development cycle applications for the Equity Middle Office using RAD techniques with C#, Sybase, SQL Server, Excel/VBA and other tool sets.

The role involves interfacing with the mid-office sponsors, partnership with peers in a global team covering NA, EMEA and APAC.

Essentials for the RAD Developer (C#, Sybase, SQL Server, Excel VBA/ Java / Middle Office) role will include: 

• Typically 5 years hands-on experience and in-depth expertise of Java, Spring , Excel , Access VBA, Unix scripting

• Proven track record in C# developing enterprise scale applications

• Knowledge of market data systems and real-time capabilities is a plus (Reuters , BBG)

• Strong relational database experience and SQL.

• RAD practices and related lifecycle methodologies

• Strong business knowledge of equity derivatives (transaction management)

• Strong communication and team-working skills.

• System integration , testing , design

• Experience of interfacing with sponsors , articulating requirements and solutions

• Computer science background with an intellectual rigour.

• Proven track record of ownership and delivery.

• Delivery focused approach to work and ability to work without reliance on being given too much direction

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• The desire to want to learn the business is essential
