RAIL TRANSIT CONTROL SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ENGINEERING MANAGER COMMERCIAL CAREER PATH
SUMMARY
- Exceedingly high quality career path COMMERCIAL company opportunity
- Strong bonus profit sharing system that is part of the historic company culture.
- Stable, quality management, long history of success in the market.
- Capacities and capabilities really different than competition.
- This career path opportunity has elements of preconstruction (RFP review, schematic review, proposal development, presentation), major systems supplier relationship management, client management, engineering reviews.
- Clear path for career growth and far faster track than is generally possible in the rail transit systems integration business at large.
The company needs a rail signal and control systems engineer with rail electronics integration experience and a client friendly persona to support proposal development, preconstruction activity, agency relationship management, construction oversight and to serve as a liaison to the major rail electronic systems manufacturers for both standard construction and major engineer, procure and construction programs.
The firm is a long-term successful historic player in many transit systems construction niches (power, signal, controls, systems integration, communications and life-safety) and the firm represents a stable, life-long career path and home for a committed transit professional. If your personal goal is to team in a company that has the flexibility to assure career and compensation growth until careers end, this is a great spot.
Operating as both a contractor and an engineer, procure and construct firm (EPC), the firm has the broadest possible approach to the transit engineering and construction marketplaces. While rail/transit work is part of what the Company does, it is not all of what is done, which insures the stability of the entire enterprise. Entering the preconstruction engineering staff here as a rail systems electronics professional will allow for your continued growth in the rail field, but also allows for exposure, training and opportunity in other related systems engineering work.
There are lots of JOBS available, such as those presently driven by PTC mandated deadlines but this opportunity is a career-path opportunity – not just a JOB. When those major upgrades have been completed just a few years down the road, all but a select handful of the niche specific professionals that jumped on those high-dollar jobs specifically related to PTC will be out of those jobs and searching for the next positions. Yes, we are sure that every company promises all those engineers permanent positions but TRENDING the work those companies have done in the past and the SPIKE for PTC tells anyone paying attention and being honest with themselves what will happen when that work winds down. Job opportunists will find it impossible to hold onto economic gains made in a windfall market driven by government mandates and regulatory date pressures.
Selecting the right firm and an adaptable career path now will provide a better overall economic outcome when a number of years are considered / factored into the equation. The Long-Term career horizons our firm represents and niche alternatives the Company participates in, beyond the very specific mandated technologies such as PTC mean a steady progressive long term career for you. Here you will be able to expand your body of knowledge and retain professional value by breadth of experience beyond just very specific depth of experience.
The company has been a major infrastructure constructor for more than half a century. For that more than half a century the company has made money. Our capabilities are vertically integrated and electrical is a portion of what is done. The company is in the utility energy businesses, the alternative energy businesses, highway systems business, airport specialties construction businesses and electric utilities construction business among a number of others. What we targeted years ago are FUNDAMENTAL NECESSITIES that do not track the general economy. There is a clearly visible half-century of concentrated work to be done to upgrade, repair, expand and adapt tired public infrastructures on deck right now.
One key to company success has been differentiation. The company has a massive civil construction capability and fabrication capability to compliment electrical power and signal integration, and we can mobilize at any location in the United States. The company is also a process-developer with the internal ability to build specialized machinery to speed-up and often fully automate labor intensive tasks. For rail systems construction the firm maintains a fleet of specialized equipment and tools.
COMPANY CULTURE
Straight-up, high integrity, stable (long employee tenure) and employee friendly described the internal culture and what the client experience is as well.
