Ratings Specialist (Standard & Poor”s Ratings Services)
Standard and Poor's is seeking an outstanding professional with experience analyzing entities to join its Corporate Ratings team as a Ratings Specialist in Sydney or Melbourne.
We are seeking a rigorous, hard worker, motivated and skilled team-player candidate who can demonstrate analytical skills to internal and external audiences, and maintain and enhance the quality and timeliness of our analysis. This position will give the successful candidate the opportunity to embrace a more advanced analytical work in an international working environment.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Interpret rating methodology,
- Actively manage the accurate, timely and efficient processing collection of information and data for spreadsheet databases.
- Co-ordinate with global offices to ensure data is treated consistently across international borders and available to the Standard Poor's global network and develop spreadsheet statistics, including peer group analysis, for a portfolio of credits that are supported, less complex or are routine transactions,
- Interpret financial models and is accountable for the preparation for an issuer/client meeting and in material to be presented at rating committee,
- Proactively seek out material for management meetings where the incumbent is primary analyst on minor, supported or less complex entities.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Preferably have experience from a large commercial bank, investment bank, investing institution or an audit company working in the field of credit analysis of multinational corporations
- Be educated to degree level in a relevant business related field, a relevant commerce or business degree, CFA or financial qualification would be desirable
- Have strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts
- Be numerate and accurate with figures and detail orientated with the ability to maintain accuracy whilst complying with deadlines
- Possess solid communication skills, verbal and written, as well as the capacity to expand learn and to make a contribution
