RD FOOD TECHNOLOGIST

Trident owns and operates offshore processing vessels and shore-side plants throughout Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and Minnesota.
Trident currently has an opening for a Food Technologist to support Operations and the Research Development department located in our Motley, Minnesota plant. Applies scientific and engineering principles in research, develoment, production technology, quality control, packaging, processing and utilization of foods by performing the following duties:
Assists RD Manager in bench top research, evaluates new ingredients, plans lab experiments, shelf life testing and production trials.
Recommends and studies methods to improve ingredient qualities and food products production in areas of flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, and/or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of foods.
Compiles and records testing data and charts for ingredient performance, production test information/ summary and on-going projects.
Assisting in product evaluation, using analytical and/or physical testing equipment.
Participates in sensory evaluations, product cuttings / presentations to various vendors and customer groups.
Involved in the development of new product food standards, safety and sanitary regulations.
Maintains laboratory equipment
Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Candidates must be energetic, business savvy, charismatic, and possess a high level of integrity.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge in food science, nutrition, labeling regulations, ingredients functionality and food processing preferred.
