Real Estate Securities Analyst
Forum Partners (Forum) is a global real estate investment firm, established in May 2002, with offices in Tokyo, Mumbai, Sydney, New York, London, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore. Forum specializes in indirect real estate investments through privately negotiated and structured debt, mezzanine, and equity securities of public and non-public real estate companies. The open market purchase of listed securities is done via its subsidiary Forum Securities Ltd.
Forum has recently entered into a strategic relationship with a major European institution (La Française, an affiliate of Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe ) which will provide over $600M of seed capital to allocate across a number of investment strategies, including real estate securities. In addition La Française has acquired a 24.9% interest in Forum with the remaining shares held by management.
To support these exciting growth initiatives, Forum Securities has an opening at junior analyst level based in London. Working with the global real estate securities team, the person will get good exposure to all aspects of the real estate securities investment process, from modelling, management interactions, property visits, to participation on portfolio decision making across a range of global portfolios.
The individual’s initial primary responsibilities will be to:
- Analyze macroeconomic and real estate fundamentals
- Conduct fundamental research and maintain valuation models for a specifically assigned (predominantly European) universe
- Provide write-ups regarding market and company updates
- Attend meetings with companies’ management, conferences and property tours (may entail some overseas travel)
- Identify, present and be responsible for investment recommendations to the global team
- Attend investor meetings
Ideal candidates will be a Graduate, preferably in economics and finance (but not limited to), with the following experience:
- Global background
- Analytical synthetic mind
- Intellectual curiosity critical sense
- Passion for modeling.
- Good presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and be part of a geographically diverse team
- Foreign language knowledge an advantage
- Self-starter
- Unquestioned integrity
- Investment experience with a strong analytical/financial focus and/or real estate experience a natural advantage
