SUMMARY

Under general direction, completely and independently performs all types of inspections

on materials and products. This includes raw material stock, machined parts, assemblies

and metal castings, and purchased finished items used in parts assemblies for

conformance to specifications. Verifies accuracy and completeness of purchasing

documentation. Operates coordinate measuring equipment to measure dimensions of

manufactured aerospace parts of strict tolerance by performing the following duties.

 

DUTIES

• Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits and incomplete

welds.

• Reviews Purchase Order clauses and modifications. Reviews contracts, drawing and

engineering orders.

• Verifies completeness and correctness of Work Order/Traveler.

• Perform first article inspections.

• Rejects defective parts or material, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts,

or inspection tag. Segregates rejected product or material from production flow.

• Generates a Non-Conformance Report as required on rejected products or material.

• Provides support to Final Inspection as required.

• Reads blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications for selected parts

• Positions parts on CMM measuring equipment, and operate to verify conformance to b

blueprint requirements.

• Performs other assignments as requested/required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to read and analyze blue prints.

• Ability to provide guidance and direct work activities to Receiving Inspector A B

personnel.

• Ability to use CMM basic inspection tools, calipers, scales, height gauges, optical

aids, micrometers.

• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning tolerancing (GDT).

• Proficient shop mathematics (including trigonometry).

 

TERMS / RATES

• 3 months+ contract assignment

• $20-25/hour

• This is an FAA safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment drug testing

and random drug/alcohol testing thereafter.
