Recently Qualified ACA to join a Global Asset Management Firm!

My client, a leading Asset Management firm is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join the business at a time of significant growth and development.

The organisation provides investment management services primarily to institutions and manages a combination of long-only and alternative products across the sub-asset classes of investment grade corporate debt, high yield corporate debt, emerging market debt, convertible bonds, distressed debt and multi-strategy debt products.
The primary purpose of this role is to take control for the accounting of the UK entities, ensuring the accurate financial accounting reporting of the monthly and YTD company results.
Duties will include;
*Maintain financial accounting records for UK entities
*Responsible for producing statutory financial statements under International Accounting Standards ("IFRS's') and in accordance with UK SORP for LLPs
*Liaise and support Internal and External auditor's queries.
*Point of contact for Group accounting for monthly / quarterly financial reporting requirements
*Assist with documentation of company accounting policies and ensuring group accounting policies are adhered to
*Assist with documentation and updating of accounting processes
*Preparation of the FSA returns, invoicing for segregated mandates and VAT returns
*Controlling income, cash flow and expenditure
Internally, the candidate will need to be able to establish good working relationships with other departments, in particular management accounting, fund accounting and overseas offices. Externally, the candidate will be involved with the external and internal auditors, UK tax providers, company bankers and overseas accountants. Ultimately the candidate will need to be totally familiar with all aspects of the accounting for the UK entities / group.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

*A recognised accountancy qualification and up to 2 years post qualification experience
*Understanding industry products and practices.
*Strong 'people skills' for building relationships with colleagues at all levels
*A detailed understanding of accounting standards and a proven track record of solving detailed accounting issues.
*Analytical background evidenced by a good scientific, business or economics degree
*Experience of fixed income credit products, gained in an investment banking, hedge fund, asset management or audit environment preferred, theoretical understanding beneficial
*A desire to grow and develop within an expanding business
