Reconciliations Business Analyst recruitment
The responsibility of 'Joint Reconciliations Utility' IT (JRU) is to deliver an efficient, high quality set of end to end IT Services to deliver the benefits of UBS bank wide global reconciliation services in partnership with Reconciliations Operations across WMSB and IB, with plans to expand the partnership to Global Asset Management and WMUS Operations in the future. JRU IT staff are primarily located in London, Zurich, Stamford, Singapore, and Hyderabad.
This role sits within the Solutions Strategy Team. This team manages the pipeline of reconciliation-related change activities for TLM (Smartstream production, primarily cash stock tool), REX (in-house inter-system) tool and Intellimatch (Sungard product)
The role is for a Reconciliations Business Analyst, with primary activities focusing on:
- Working in close partnership with our Operations teams (across Wealth Mgmt and Investment Bank) in shaping the target reconciliation landscape as well as implement the most efficient, consistent and cost/effective solutions
- Develop a solid and efficient change mgmt process, focussing on good understanding of requirements, best solution definition (best approach and definition of target rec tool), prioritisation and implementation.
- Translate business requirements into IT requirements
- Work in close relationship with JRU Ops and with target new clients in developing business cases justifying an onboarding onto JRU.
- Coordinate processes and activities across our reconciliation platforms.
- Develop and regularly produce key performance indicators, in order to continually strive for process improvements and process excellence.
- Being a participant in assigned Global Operations projects, providing necessary support to the project team and delivering requested information in a timely manner.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate experience in a project environment or run-the-bank within banking operations, have good understanding of reconciliation/control processes and, ideally, knowledge of the TLM or REX applications.
Exceptional client service, communication, influencing as well as planning skills are key for the success in this position.

The individual will be delivery focused and resilient: The extensive client base of product lines within Operations and the Risk, Finance and IT streams external to Operations will demand a balance between business diversity, client priorities and control integrity. Sound influencing and communication skills are essential to be successful in this role.
This role is geared towards a team player, with skills to manage people even without direct line management responsibility. Tasks will be allocated to the individual to manage, however much of the work will require team interaction and will be achieved as a team. The diverse scope of the role will demand team contribution across the Operations forum globally.
The candidate will be required to work to tight deadlines under pressure. The work culture must be flexible and diverse to meet the demands of the role, this will require high levels of drive and commitment.

- The candidate would be expected to have a strong understanding of banking operations processes, particularly reconciliations.
- There is a requirement for some knowledge of a project lifecycle, understanding what steps need to be taken to achieve results
- Full understanding of the professional, ethical and legal standards required in Operations and ensure that standards are maintained by team
- Expertise in reconciliations systems, specifically TLM, and all related functionality
- Experience in mapping business requirements into formal functional documents which can be used to build reconciliations.
- Experience in designing/implementing of Cash, Stock and Inter System reconciliations
- Ability to analyse business specifications and translate this into technical terms
- Data Analysis
- Basic SQL skills (Desirable)
