Regional Head of Anti-Money Laundering, APAC
Reporting to the Regional Head of Compliance, you will have ultimate responsibility for the oversight of all activities relating to policy and regulatory implementation of AML procedures across Asia Pacific. This will include but is not limited to Corporate Banking, Institutional Sales Trading and Fund Administration businesses. Working closely with line of business heads and in-country compliance heads spanning more than 10 countries, you will ensure a robust AML procedural framework is in place and that it complies with HKMA guidelines. You will also lead a core investigations team and monitor the performance of existing AML systems and processes, making recommendations for improvement where necessary. Furthermore, you will manage the money laundering reporting function and raise with the Regional Head any reputational risks that arise from your risk-based investigations. As an integral part of the regional management team, you will also seek to influence compliance, operational risk and other support functions to adopt championed procedures.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned Anti-Money Laundering professional possessing at least 12-15 years of experience in a relevant compliance oversight capacity. Previous legal qualifications or practice is an advantage. Candidates from the financial services sector, private practice and professional services will all be considered on merit. However, exposure to money laundering, sanctions, compliance or risk management is essential as is a good working knowledge of the product range on offer from a Corporate Investment Bank. As a regional voice for the bank, you will possess the requisite gravitas, integrity and drive to ensure excellence in execution of your duties. Fluency in spoken and written English is a must. Chinese language an advantage.
