Regional Head (VP) – Global Investigative Services, Claims recruitment
This position is responsible to manage the overall fraud program for the Asia Pacific and Far East region. The position requires proven leadership skills in managing a team of anti-fraud specialists to reduce the economic loss to Chartis through the identification and investigation of suspicious insurance claims or suspicious insurance related activities covering all lines of business involving claimants, agents, brokers, attorneys, medical providers, etc.
The position supports the claims and underwriting organizations with an end to end fraud program to assist in making appropriate claims adjudication decisions and/or pursue appropriate remedies through the civil or criminal justice systems. The position reports to the GIS Global Head of Investigations with a matrix to the regional head of Asia Pac claims operations.
- Plan, manage and evaluate work of staff; make decisions regarding pay, performance management, development, employment and staffing requirements.
- Manage the implementation and monitor the effectiveness of regional training and fraud awareness campaigns.
- Work with claims managers in the region to improve the detection, handling and accurate reporting of suspicious claims
- Work with underwriting on fraud prevention by reviewing loss trends, fraud schemes, etc. that potentially impact loss ratios
- Manage the collection and verification of all fraud related metrics for timely reporting to regional and global managers
- Manage expenses within established and approved budget guidelines.
- Manage the effective use of all fraud related tools and systems.
- Ensure compliance with all country laws and regulations regarding investigations, reporting, and data privacy requirements.
- Manage an effective communication process with all stake holders, managers and staff regarding results, key developments, recommendations and industry data
- Function as the Chartis liaison and point of contact for the region with industry fraud associations, law enforcement, regulators, etc. as appropriate
- Take an active role in the insurance fraud associations to raise awareness of Chartis' anti-fraud efforts and to keep in tune with the latest trends and changes in the industry
- Take an active role in promoting the anti-fraud program, monitoring office performance and providing solutions for improvement as necessary

- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff
- Train and improve the performance of others regarding fraud detection and investigation.
- Manage financial budgets and create expense forecasts
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
- Ability to work as a member of the global executive team to manage and drive anti-fraud best practices
- Ability to coordinate across multiple lines of business and with multiple stakeholders to improve performance and achieve consensus as required.
- Ability to provide executive level briefings to senior management as required
Technical Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in leading a large country or regional Special Investigation Unit preferred
- Strong analytical decision making, problem solving, and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English a must. Fluency in other Asian languages a plus
- Demonstrated abilities in time management and establishing priorities.
- Understanding of insurance terms and policy interpretation.
- Strong ability to use excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of criminal and civil justice systems.
- Willing and able to travel, to include possible overnight stays for extended periods of time and work irregular days and hours as required.
- Advanced working knowledge in investigating both commercial and consumer lines of insurance a plus.
- A minimum of 10 years insurance fraud investigative or related experience and at least an additional 3 years experience managing an anti-fraud team
- Four year college degree preferred.
- PC skills and experience with various database search capabilities.
