Position Description:
SunGard provides solutions for the insurance industry in each of the following major business lines: life and health, annuities and pensions, property and casualty, reinsurance and asset management. SunGard's software and services support functions from the front-office through the back-office, from customer service, policy administration and actuarial calculations to financial and investment accounting and reporting.
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for aggressively pursuing high value software and services sales and business development opportunities within SunGard's current and prospective client base to achieve or exceed yearly sales goals, increase market share and maximise profits.

The Regional Sales Manager works closely with SunGard's other business units within the region plus Marketing, Product Development, and Global Services to identify, develop, and deliver sales of the iWorks solutions. They are responsible for developing and managing the client relationship and selling the strategic vision at c-level to board level.

Position Requirements:
Sales
- Develop a sales territory plan.
- Generate ERM opportunities with existing Prophet Compass clients as well as with potential new customers in the insurance industry.
- Develop high level relationships with clients, consultants, and external organisations to increase SunGard's ERM visibility in the insurance industry.
- Through direct communication with prospective clients, gain a thorough understanding of their business, system needs and requirements, and educate the prospect on SunGard ERM offerings and strategy to ultimately turn prospects into profitable, long-term, SunGard clients.
- Meet or exceed all yearly sales goals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the annual sales plan.
- In conjunction with the local SunGard Client Account Managers manage and control the sales cycle from initial prospect contact, client needs analysis, solution presentation, completion of proposals, and contract negotiations including price, delivery schedule, product specifications and terms.
- Maintain an effective presence at industry events, conferences and seminars.
- Track all prospecting activity and sales opportunity activity with companies and contacts on a daily basis. using SunGard's Sales Force Dot Com (SFDC) CRM database

Product
- Maintain expertise in related insurance industry issues relative to trends, competition, and customer needs.
- Maintain expertise relative to the function and technology of the SunGard iWORKS product offering in order to represent and sell effectively.

Marketing
- Assist Marketing in the development of effective marketing material by providing expertise and perspective relative to customer needs, competitor insights, and business solutions.
