Regional Specialist Development Programme: Global Risk

Around the world, growth is bringing new prosperity; businesses are pioneering new trade routes; and new centres of wealth and influence are emerging. At HSBC, we’re inspired by the ways the world is changing for our business and for our customers. That’s why we’re looking to connect with the best and the brightest people from across the globe. With so much to offer, we’re ideally placed to help you realise your ambitions.

The Regional Specialist Development Programme offers a route to acquiring the comprehensive, expert-level knowledge required to succeed within a specific functional area, complemented by opportunities to develop a broad understanding of the way our business handles functional operations around the Asia-Pacific region.

The programme aims to provide a narrow focus of technical training that will develop expert functional leaders with skills applicable across our regional business operations. Specialists will have the opportunity to play a role in overcoming some of the most pressing challenges our business faces as they build a greater awareness of our functional operations, front-office to back-office and across a diverse range of markets and cultures.

The Global Risk - Compliance stream of the HSBC Regional Specialist Development Programme represents the ideal preparation for developing the skills necessary to excel in supporting the functions that protect our frontline businesses across the Asia-Pacific region. After beginning with a specific focus on the core Compliance functional areas of Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance, the programme will take you through experiences across the breadth of the wider function, providing a solid foundation on which you will begin building a long-term career as a regional specialist functional manager.

As part of the programme, you will spend 12 to 18 months in a Core Placement with the Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance teams. You will then spend six to eight months in secondary attachments, followed by four to eight months in an overseas attachment. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive array of development and support activities and initiatives, including one or both of our renowned Group and Regional Graduate Development Programmes.

Qualifications

To be eligible for a place on the programme, you must have at least a second-class honours degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognised university in Hong Kong or overseas, and be fluent in English. Candidates of all nationalities are welcome to apply.
