REGIONAL UNIX MANAGER – ASIA PACIFIC recruitment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of professionals to manage the regional Unix Storage infrastructure, working closely with other colleagues on support and operational issues
- Regional Unix platform capacity operational management such as server disk capacity planning, security compliance, user administration, performance systems monitoring
- Assistance to the regional IT team on troubleshooting IT infrastructure issues
- Train team members on the operation support of the Unix and network related environment
- Provide consultation to project groups, applications teams, and businesses on new initiatives involving Unix and Network related platforms.
- Managed assigned projects effectively and in accordance to project timelines, communications, and teamwork
- Work with local regional management in the costing and budgeting for the Unix Storage platform
- Help develop project proposals and coordinate business requirements documentation, take business requirements and translate into IT requirements with the consultation of relevant IT teams
- 'Hands-on' role with requirement to play an active delivery role including taking on relevant business analysis, testing, and other functions as required.
- Prepare and maintain tracking status of projects, documents and dashboards.
- Prepare and maintain operating environment capacity and status reports
- Work with project owners to help prepare, develop and maintain project plans.
- Work with relevant PMO to provide the information for departmental scorecards and key metrics.
- Understand Audit, Risk Control requirements, contributing to the development of standards and ensure all delivery conform to those standards.
- Manage projects in accordance with the approved project management framework.
- Indentify process improvements as part of projects assigned where applicable.
- Successfully deliver on projects that meet defined objectives, budgets and schedules.
- Ensure smooth implementation of projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A demonstrable background on operations and management of the Unix Storage environment, in the financial industry
- An in-depth knowledge of financial IT Infrastructure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on internal client service.
- Excellent communications skills, including the ability to write clear and precise project documentation.
- Strong fundamental knowledge on computer room design, structured cabling, data network, servers storage platforms, and market-data services in a financial institution
- Ability to manage vendors to deliver solutions
- The ability to face senior management and directors as required.
- Strong project management experience in defining and managing outcomes.
- Excellent analytical as well as interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate and work very well with local, regional, and global teams with diverse cultural backgrounds
- Able to take others input into consideration, and at the same time being assertive in discussing solutions
