Registered Nurse Job in Calgary T2P3H3, Alberta Canada

STATUS

One year contract
(30 hours and up to 37.5 hours per week as operational requirements dictate)
Projected hire date is June 4th, 2012

HOURS OF WORK

Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm with the occasional Friday shift from 8:00am to 4:00pm
Candidate must be flexible to work Friday’s as required. 

LOCATION

Calgary (321 6th Avenue, 9th Floor)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Occupational Executive Health

•Conduct clinic testing including vision/colour vision, audiometry, spirometry, blood draws, urine testing
•Perform resting and sub maximal fitness ECG tests as required
•Coordinate external referrals for occupational and executive clients
•Follow-up on medical tests consultation results
•Be available to physicians for results follow-up
•Quality assurance on executive and occupational health assessments

Travel Vaccination Health

•Provide up-to-date customized travel health consultations for business or leisure travelers
•Perform vaccinations to these travelers
•Provide information to assist clients in making informed decisions regarding travel health
•Provide individualized risk assessment and risk management information, as it relates to general health, occupational health, high altitude and foreign postings
•Attend off-site vaccination clinics and develop and perform presentations, as required
•Assist with the organization and administration of annual flu vaccination campaigns

General

•Work as a responsible team member, assessing recommending improvements to programs and services
•Show ability to work within a team environment and communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders
•Demonstrate good judgment, initiative and sense of responsibility
•Great customer service orientation and high level professionalism
•Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

•Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of Alberta
•1 – 2 years experience in a clinic setting; previous varied nursing experience is a must
•Occupational Health, Preventive Health or Travel Medicine experience would be an asset
•Flexibility to work Fridays as operational requirements dictate
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required
•Committed to providing the highest quality care to our clients
•Exhibits critical thought process and sound judgment in decision making
•Computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
