Registered Nurse – RN – Baylor Medical Center at Irving – Resource Pool – PRN – 7a

Baylor Health Care System is a not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare system with many care locations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth community.

The Registered Nurse PRN conducts and participates in comprehensive Nursing assessment of assigned patients, identifies complex care problems and evaluates effectiveness of patient support services. Instructs patients and significant others in care provided, disease and/ or illness, expected outcomes, and homecare.
 
Perform individualized Nursing assessment for each assigned patient utilizing assessment skills of inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation to obtain
physical assessment data.
 
Interpret data from all health team members and integrate it into written assessment and formulate Nursing diagnosis based on available assessment data.
 
Formulate individualized patient care plans by prescribing Nursing interventions for patient problems. Establish realistic goals for patient during hospitalization and devise teaching plan to meet learning needs which include developing teaching strategies.
 
Communicate patient care plan to health team members on continuous basis which includes giving report, providing explanation of plan of care to be given,
acting as resource person, and completing necessary documentation on various Nursing forms.
 
May perform other duties as assigned or requested

Required Education and/or Experience:
Associate of Science - Nursing
BSN Preferred
2 years of recent and relevant experience in at least 2 specialties
Registered Nurse BLS/CPR
 
Shift Requirements
Hospital specific, nurse floats to 2 or more specialties as required within defined service lines, plus one major and two minor Holiday:
Major Holidays:  Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Minor Holidays: Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, July 4th and Labor Day
