Regulatory Advisory Director recruitment

This role sits in the Investment Banking Business of UBS within Group Operational Finance. 

The wider team’s responsibilities include meeting the reporting requirements of the FSA and the BOE.  This role is within the Advisory team where the candidate will report directly to the Head of UK Regulatory Policy.  The main stakeholders of this unit are the Reporting and Analytics team (Production) and also the Regulatory Change team where the candidate will be expected to support and provide guidance on regulations to the teams as they operate daily. Other stakeholders to this team will be senior management outside of the regulatory space, advising them on regulatory changes and the implications for their respective areas moving forward.

Key daily activities of the role will be:

• Understanding of regulatory changes and the implications of these and the provision of advice to relevant areas on how to successfully meet these.

• Managing the relationship with external regulators, the FSA and BOE.

• Review and signoff of trades and new business proposals

• Act a the SME for regulatory projects as required

• Development of necessary documentation to reflect any regulatory changes and the amendments made to the policy to adhere to ensure compliance with these.

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

A qualified accountant

Have a strong regulatory background around the Trading book

Have deep knowledge of most chapters within BIPRU and an understanding of the required FSA and BOE returns

Strong stakeholder management skills
