Regulatory Controller

Department

Regulatory Controllers are responsible for ensuring that Morgan Stanley maintains adequate capital resources to meet the firm's investment business commitments and to withstand the risks to which the business is subject, e.g. Market Risk and Counterparty Risk. Regulatory Controllers form part of the wider Financial Control Group.
Associate position within the growing Regulatory Controller team, focusing on implementation of the Basel III Standardization Rules calculations and reporting process. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable Regulatory rules, supporting the regulatory change environment and maintaining relationships with key Regulatory Controllers' stakeholders.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
• Investigation data quality and resolving issues at source
• Building out and implementation of the Basel III Standardization Rules calculation and process.
• User acceptance testing.
• Enhancing risk and control environment to minimize errors and inefficiencies.
• Developing and documentation of key business processes and roles-and-responsibilities within team.
• Building strong relations with internal Regulatory Controller colleagues and key external stakeholders including Credit Risk Department, Credit Risk Controllers, Operations, and other Finance teams.
• Ensuring regular communication and information transparency to key stakeholders.

Skills Required

• Degree qualification required.
• Proven ability to perform data analysis on large volumes of data, draw themes and key issues and communicate meaningful findings.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise deliverables effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong MS Excel, MS Powerpoint skills.
• Awareness and ability to identify and manage risks and develop control environment.

Skills Desired

• FSA regulatory reporting experience, awareness and understanding of market risk capital charges.
• Understanding of trading book and banking book capital approaches.
• Knowledge and experience in working with various financial products, including: bonds, derivatives, swaps, options, interest rates, commodities, stock loan, forwards, etc.
• MS Access experience
