We have an outstanding contract opportunity for a Regulatory Analyst to make their mark with one of the world's largest international banking and financial services companies. In the role, you will play an integral role in helping our client deliver market leading services that set it apart from its competitors.
Since the Financial crisis of 2009, Regulatory issues have been at the forefront of the banks thinking and the team have taken active roles in the implementation of the Asset Protection Scheme, Project Merlin Lending Commitments and the Basel 3 reforms.
The MIB Regulatory team are responsible for RWA/capital reporting and analysis globally across MIB. As specialists in this field the team are in a uniqueposition to bridge both finance and risk disciplines in order to meet reporting obligations and support delivery of business objectives. The key customers of the team include the Portfolio Management/Front Office, GBM Executive Management, RBS Group Risk, RBS Group Finance and ultimately the FSA.
This role will be responsible for 2nd level review, challenge, control and provision of analytics in support of key customers namely Group Chief Accountants, Group Risk and MIB Finance and Risk functions before the release of information and analysis to them. This will involve close liaison with the business aligned controllers, our extended Delhi based reporting team and the Regulatory data solutions team. Responsibilities:
- Detailed review, encompassing validation and challenge of the daily, weekly and monthly reporting of the capital reporting requirements.
- Identification of factors compromising data quality/relevance of capital information and actively work to resolve these.
- Preparation and presentation of movement analysis commentary and the capital requirement calculations to Business and Group functions.
- Ensuring an effective and robust control environment is maintained to ensure completeness and accuracy over reported numbers.
- Focus on continuous improvements to ensure processes are run efficiently and are still relevant to meet the teams reporting deliverables.
- Collaborate across the Regulatory Finance team, Business Decision Support teams, the wider Finance and Risk functions to drive appropriate accountability for inputs to the regulatory reporting process and validation of results.
Requirements:
- Financial reporting experience.(Basel2 FSA prudential regulatory reporting experience preferred), Good Market or Credit Risk.
- Good communication skills and working with remote teams and liaison with senior finance and business personnel.
- Track record in improving reporting and control processes.
- Good presentation and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Excel and MS access knowledge
