Regulatory Policy Advisor
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing existing policies at both divisional and group levels to ensure continued alignment with best practice, legal/regulatory requirements and the objectives of the business.
- Participating in firm-wide business improvement programs and making recommendations for improvement in accordance with group policy and new directives emanating from the EU and UK.
- Collaborating in the implementation of Group policies, guidelines and procedures across the� businesses and central functions.
- Providing input and challenge to Group on behalf of in relation to any new draft policies.
- Responsible for drafting any other policies for which there is not a Group standard, depending on the needs of the business.
- Analysing and monitoring business activities and commenting on any potential areas of weakness within the business in relation to Regulatory Policy.
The Candidate:
- Degree educated
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
- At least 4-5 years financial services experience, developing and implementing risk policy and procedures.
- Strategic thinker, with the ability to simplify complex issues into understandable communications related to group and divisional regulatory policies.
- Detailed understanding of the UK political and regulatory environment
- An excellent understanding of relevant legislation and regulation and their commercial impact.
- Proven ability to think strategically, creatively and to simplify complex policy positions and ensure that these are effectively managed and communicated.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Provides commitment to geographic and travelling flexibility.
