J.P. Morgan International Private Bank: Asia Regulatory Project Manager - Product Platform team
Overview:
The Product Management team is focused on delivering high impact product platform solutions for the International Private Bank (IPB) business. Due to the continued growth of the Private Bank/Wealth business in Asia, the Product Management team is now seeking a Product Manager located in Hong Kong who is responsible for product development and platform strategy/design working in conjunction with key regional investors, asset class leaders / solutions teams. Responsibilities include new product development with all functional groups and defining key platform, process and practice requirements to meet increasing Private Bank and Private Wealth business demands. The Product Management team partners closely with Asset Class Leaders, Investors, Bankers, Risk Management, Credit, Finance, Technology and Operations focusing on cross-departmental product and business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and take ownership of all regulatory projects impacting the business in Asia including those driven from the US (eg Dodd Frank, FATCA etc)
- Provide support during audit reviews of all products
- Review and consolidate local regulatory developments in the APAC region and initiate and drive changes to ensure all products and supporting platform meet those requirements
- Work with colleagues primarily in the US (but also elsewhere) to determine the impact of regulatory changes in those jurisdictions to Asia and formulate options and plans
- Liaise with Technology BAs to define high-level Business requirements and ensure that proposed delivery method covers all requirements
- Develop and manage project plans and provide updates for senior management on project status, issues and benefits to the business
- Develop strong business cases to justify the need for activities and projects
- Be hands on and drive initiatives to deliver on-schedule, on-scope, to quality and on-budget
Skills
- Experience within Private Banking/Wealth Management or Investment Banking from product development, product control or process re-engineering perspective
- Expertise in Project Management discipline, techniques and project delivery process with ability to manage, organize, and control activities of complex projects
- Solid understanding of Front and Middle Office processes
- Developing project requirements, assigning priorities, establishing deadlines, and tracking problems while ensuring capacity within the operations team is properly assessed.
- Relentless focus on execution and enjoy taking ownership for the delivery of measurable results
- Strong business sense and enthusiasm to drive project results to client satisfaction
- Ability to adapt in a fast paced, dynamic and changing team environment is essential
- Confident and outgoing personality, able to deal directly with the senior people
- Strong solution based problem solving and analytical skills, able to add value rather than just accept the status quo
