Regulatory Risk – Energy Trading – 80k recruitment

A leading global Energy company are looking for a senior compliance professional to act as their deputy head of regulatory affairs within their trading arm. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious organization capable of offering the right individual more than just a day to day job but a challenging and rewarding career.

Reporting into the head of policy regulation, you will be entering an organisation with a strong compliance culture and where the department has a high profile with senior management. This is in many ways an advisory role and you will work closely with multiple functions. You will be responsible for monitoring proposed EU and legislation and regulatory directives, with a particular emphasis on EMIR Level2, MiFID 2, and the review of the Market Abuse Directive, assessing the impact these will have on the business and cascading this across the relevant business areas. As this is very much a regulatory affairs role you will also be expected to build relationships with key members of the European Parliament, European Comission, Council of Ministers and relevant regulatory authorities.

Due to the regulatory-centric nature of the role individuals from a regulatory affairs background are encouraged to apply. A public policy background or experience of working with a regulatory body is most definitely advantageous. Experience of working with commodities is not essential; however you must have some experience of financial services regulation. Overall they are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running and has an insight into policy in the EU.

If you have experience of this nature then I encourage you to send me an updated resume. Please call Francis Barnett on 0207398300  to discuss If you have some questions as I understand this is not your "average" compliance role.
