Regulatory Support Paralegal Job in Chicago, Illinois US

Position Summary
The Regulatory Support Paralegal will be primarily responsible for maintaining state and federal legal filings, managing regulatory legal projects, and developing metrics and systems for communicating legal requirements and data to business partners engaged in providing higher education services. Individual must be a proactive self-starter who is capable of handling many projects at one time in a high volume work environment.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Regulatory Support Paralegal will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Regulatory department's information systems; Assist in the design and implementation of programs, policies and practices to ensure that all business units are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements; Establish and maintain liaison relationships with business unit partners; Collaborate with other regulatory professionals in the organization to ensure recommendations to the business units are properly addressed. A key component of the role's duties will be to develop and manage database systems, in MS Excel, Access, SharePoint and/or Legal Files, to track and report on the activities of the Federal and State regulatory departments. The paralegal will employ these database systems to develop dashboards and metrics for use in communicating requirements and data to various constituencies, including the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and internal business partners.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. /B.S.) Paralegal studies, regulatory law, higher education. 3-5 years related experience. 2 years experience considered in lieu of every year of formal education required. MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Database platforms experience. Excellent analytical skills. Strong oral and written communications skills, including comfort communicating with senior management personnel. Ability to initiate and manage numerous tasks concurrently. Ability to work independently and to come up with solutions to problems without excessive oversight. Team player, high productivity, comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment. Excellent attention to detail.
