Institutional Banking is responsible for the provision of products and services to the Bank's major corporate, institutional and government clients to optimise the client's capital structure and related financial flows. This is achieved through the origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank's corporate and major government clients.
In this role you will identify and develop new business opportunities within the Government and Infrastructure sectors within Western Australia and Relationship Manage a developing portfolio of clients with a focus on growing profitable business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide input to and takes responsibility for delivery of strategic initiatives to position the Bank to win new business and new clients in the Government and Infrastructure space within Western Australia. Develop client relationships to ensure that the Bank provides the majority of each client's financial needs (product and service). This includes optimising cross sell opportunities.
- Relationship Manage new clients, to ensure a base for growth and manage actual results against agreed plans.
- Actively pursue the identification of opportunities to assist clients meet their day to day financial needs and medium term goals by gaining an in depth understanding of client needs. Involve product specialists in 'client brainstorming' and delivery of financial solutions.
- Negotiate commercial terms of transactions with clients and oversee progress of deal execution through to conclusion to ensure timely and efficient delivery of clients' requirements.
- Engage clients in the course of facility negotiation/documentation to ensure relationship continuity/responsibility is delivered in the client's timeframe to satisfy their financial needs.
- Maintain close liaison with Risk Management, promoting an in depth understanding of the client and of transaction proposals to ensure the maximum efficiency in obtaining Risk approvals in support of business objectives.
- Plan a calling program for prospective clients and work closely with research to develop strategies to address client and industry needs. Prepares call reports outlining issues and opportunities arising from client meetings within 24 hours of each call to ensure business opportunities are fully exploited.
- Build a network of local internal and external contacts to assist the origination of new business, new clients and the gathering of competitive intelligence.
- Identify and assess the risks which could prevent achievement of the objectives of the role. Plan and executes risk mitigating procedures. On a regular basis, reports and discusses the risk management results with the team.
- Provides superior service aligned with the client's needs and the organisation's business objectives, to ensure the Bank is the chosen Bank by clients.
In order to succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and possess the composure and drive to commit to meet tight transaction deadlines. You will be a constructive team player and will have highly developed organisational skills. The ability to demonstrate a history of executing project finance transactions will be essential to your success in this role.
