Relationship Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, managing and developing relationships with UK Corporates, primarily but not exclusively, publicly listed companies across a number of different industry sectors.

The focus is on large UK Corporates which are major players involved in consolidation within their industry, operating in the Bank's core sectors and with a product need and/ or geographical network suited to the Bank

In order to develop further business with existing clients and to expand the portfolio of clients, a Relationship Manager ("RM") is required.  Given the size of the team, RMs are required to cover clients across a number of sectors.

Core Tasks Material Responsibilities:

This role would suit an existing VP level Relationship Manager or a Senior Associate level Assistant Relationship Manager ready to take on full responsibility for developing his/ her own portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a profitable portfolio of UK corporate clients, anticipated to be in the following sectors: Support Services, Metals Mining, Construction Building Materials and Real Estate, by marketing a range of investment and corporate banking products and services such as PCM, FM, Leasing, Capital Markets and traditional credit products based on client requirements.

Main responsibilities include:

Researching identifying appropriate target names

Formulation and maintenance of Client Relationship Plans for each client/ potential client

Working with product specialists across the group and with overseas branches to tailor solutions appropriate to clients' needs

Preparation of commercial approval forms and presentation to the relevant commercial committees

Close liaison with Lending team in structuring corporate lending transactions and promotion of credit proposals to Risk management and credit committee members

Administration of client and deal information, including Customer Due Diligence

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Education

Essential:

A strong academic record preferably to Graduate level

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

Fluent English - verbal and written - and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Experience in managing client relationships ideally in the large UK corporate space

Good knowledge of commercial and investment banking products and services

Customer Due Diligence experience

An understanding of the general economic and financial environments and their impact on clients and on the banking sector

Desirable:

Experience in financial analysis, credit or risk management

Experience in pricing and structuring lending transactions and in loan documentation

Proven track record in developing corporate client relationships and generating revenue from lending and non-lending products

Experience in marketing relevant products to large corporate clients

Relevant sector experience
