Relationship Manager, 401k/Defined Contribution
In this role, the RM will partner with the advisor to assist in the delivery of value added client service in conjunction with the Defined Contribution Operations team, Communications and other key internal service areas. The Relationship Manager’s primary focus is to improve such plan metrics as employee participation, deferral rates, and investment diversification, as well as always maintaining an overall positive customer experience for both the primary plan level contacts and the individual plan participants. The Relationship Manager’s goal is to position both himself/herself, as well as Putnam, as a solution focused industry leader in a complex and ever changing industry. In addition, the RM will partner with the internal and external 401k sales team to both uncover and support new sales opportunities.
Skills/Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years experience, including at least 4 years directly related (401k relationship management) experience, detailed product knowledge (401k and underlying investments), proven ability to negotiate and influence, proven relationship-building, presentation, and sales/marketing skills, ability to communicate effectively with clients (internal and external) at all levels and to represent Putnam effectively and professionally, ability to take initiative, and to travel distances - prospective and current client visits are necessary. Existing relationships with DC-focused advisors strongly preferred. Series 7/6 and 63 licenses required (will sponsor).
