Relationship Officer – Arabic Speaking recruitment

Highly regarded West End based International Bank is keen to speak with Private Banking /Relationship Officers to join their growing team. The team has an excellent reputation in the Middle East region and is looking for strong candidates to develop into Senior Relationship Managers.

Job Purpose

Relationship Officer responsible for enhancing the relationships with the existing customers, building up new relationships with potential clients, marketing the Bank’s services and products in particular increasing the fixed deposits, loans and foreign exchange transactions and promoting suitable real estate investments in line with the Bank lending policy.

Key Responsibilities Accountabilities

(a)To market the Bank’s Private Banking services and products to existing and potential customers in accordance with the marketing strategies and plans agreed upon with the Head of Department.

(b)To make sure that all the work conducted is fully compliant with the Bank’s procedures and policy.

(c)To periodically or, as deemed necessary, communicate to customers all pertinent information on the status of their funds, market conditions, trends and opportunities.  Also to ensure that customer requests for information, advice and action are promptly met.

(d)To gather information and data on competitors and products, services and other activities and to appraise and interpret its significance to Head of Department.

(e)To explore Real Estate investment opportunities in the market presented by the Bank’s lending criteria and to market these opportunities to selective and suitable clients for the purpose of financing the transaction and other revenue opportunities.

(f)To explain and market all the services of the Bank to the customers and potential customers.

(g)To update and review customer files annually in accordance to the Bank’s KYC requirements and to ensure compliance with Money Laundering regulations at all times.

(h)To increase the Bank’s portfolio of deposits and loans and to market, build up and increase the foreign exchange business of the department.

(i)To preserve customer’ confidentiality at all times, paying particular attention to the security of documentation and communications.  Also adherence to instructions for safe guarding information and not disclosing any information about customers to a third party without the customer’s written approval, or otherwise in compliance with legal/statutory requirements.

(j)To ensure that customers’ complaints and problems are solved promptly and satisfactorily and to submit to Senior Management reports regarding any problems as well as keeping him well informed of all developments and the relationship between the client and the Bank.

(k)To prepare the necessary information used in preparation of the Division’s Business Plan and Marketing strategy.

(l)To make sure that the cash in the Department’s vault is kept safe at all times and in    compliance with the auditor’s recommendations and the Bank’s policies and procedures.

(m)To ensure that individual customer records are maintained up to date at all times.

(n)To prepare regular and special reports to departmental management in the required format, and in an accurate and timely manner.

(o)To follow up with approved solicitors and surveyors on matters related to customer transactions requested through the Bank.

(p)Preparation and submission of credit applications for approval at the appropriate sanctioning level.

(q)Supervise post-sanction facility implementation process to include, if required, obtaining relevant documentation, due diligence, account opening and facility draw-down procedures.

(r)Upon customer’s request and after being granted the necessary authority, to act on their behalf in moving their funds and portfolios from one foreign bank to another and assisting them as much as possible with banking problems should any arise.

(s)To ensure the Bank’s position is protected in terms of Credit, Compliance and legal issues.

Qualification Experience

University degree in Accounting/Economics/Business Admin.
Sound management skills
Excellent communication, marketing and analytical skills.
Investment Management
Fluency in Arabic and thorough understanding of Middle East culture and mentality.

Experience:

At least 3 years experience in Banking/Investments.
