This position will perform Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) suite operation and maintenance, specifically for Service Desk and Asset Management modules. Responsible for the ongoing administration of a system that documents operational support activities at the National Defense University (NDU). Primary focus for this position will be the management and maintenance of the ITSM Suite, configuration management and administration, database updates and report generation, etc.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- BMC Remedy ITSM Suite and IT Business Management and related modules including Asset Management and Service Desk
- Diagnose, operate, administer, configure and maintain the Remedy system.
- Administer Action Request System solutions, with a strong focus on BMC's out-of-the box capabilities.
- Assist in the gathering of requirements, preparation of technical assessments, provide technical support, training and administration
- System analysis of external systems and data sources for data integration and import.
- Develop, change, test and deployment of NDU processes into Remedy.
- Work across teams to ensure the highest level platform performance, availability and disaster recovery. Participate in Configuration, Capacity, Availability and Service Level Management teams, providing Remedy perspective, analysis, and recommendations.
- Perform local customizations and system enhancements necessary to meet organization's business needs.
- Administer application data daily, process queries and reports as requested by users and monitor server logs to ensure that all system transactions are processed correctly.
- Manage Remedy accounts and roles, process access requests.
- Ensure the Remedy applications and supporting systems are properly patched and on the most current versions.
- Create and manage user documentation and provide one-on-one user assistance as necessary.
Requires Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum two years development experience with Remedy AR System application and one year experience with BMC/Remedy ITSM applications (Specifically Service Desk and Asset Management)
- Two years administration experience with MS Windows Servers.
- Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Must be a team player and able to work in a team and structured change environment.
- Candidate must have an active Top Secret clearance.
- Security+ certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with several of the following: BMC/Remedy Action Request System (ARS) 7.x, BMC Remedy ITSM Suite 7.x (Asset, Service Desk, Service Level Management, Incident, Problem).
- Familiarity with managing high availability solutions.
- Familiarity with MS SQL Server 2005/2008, managing web technologies, and MS Windows current server and client operating systems.
- ITIL v3 Foundations certification.
