Repair Technician I
Works from schematics and other specifications to test and inspect electrical units and controls to diagnose and repair malfunctions, using hand tools and electronic knowledge.
Responsibilities:
• Work with computers in a varying degree of proficiency and skill as required by job.
• Follows detailed written instructions as to the exact procedures to be followed for repairs.
• Uses oscilloscopes, multimeters, computers, and specialized test equipment for troubleshooting and isolating electronic failures in equipment.
• Sets up test procedures and tests repaired equipment for accuracy and quality of repairs.
• Uses experience and judgment to determine whether units are passing or failing tests.
• Quantity of repaired product must meet DEX's standards for that part number.
• Prepares written parts requisitions or locates parts as needed for repairs.
• Maintains security of all electronic tools used and materials being repaired.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 concepts and guidelines for a Quality Management System.
• Adhere to all DEX policies and procedures for health and safety protocol.
• And perform any other job related tasks as required by supervisor or manager.
• Report any accidents or injuries immediately to security or management.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Requirements:
• Skills
o Ability to follow directions and good attention to detail
o Good manual dexterity and electronic skills
o Ability to work with hand tools and electronic test equipment
o Ability to operate a pc
o Work experience with printers, power supplies, monitors, disk drives, modems, or pc's is preferred
• Education
o Two years of Technical School or AS in Electronics or related field
o Test score of 30+ on Electronic Technician Exam
