Description

This position is responsible for making a significant contribution to the firm's quantitative equity research process and potentially other part of the research efforts.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Developing and enhancing quantitative stock selection model, which includes research of alpha and risk factors, model back-testing, portfolio construction, and risk/return attribution analysis
- Examining advanced statistical techniques or modeling technology
- Assisting with the setting of the firm's research priorities
- Presenting research to internal and external clients as appropriate
- Evaluating alternate third-party data sources, models, or software
- The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with the capability of, under certain supervision, taking a project from the conceptual stage through to implementation and integration

Qualifications
- Preferably Master/Ph.D degree from a top school in finance, business, economics, statistics, operations research, or related fields with a quantitative orientation
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience in quantitative investment research
- Experience in handling large data sets and performing both cross-sectional and time-series analysis using statistical/programming software such as SAS, SQL, R and/or Matlab required
- Strong understanding of quantitative security analysis and familiarity with academic and practitioner financial literature required
- Experience in International/Emerging market equity research preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Good team player
