Role Summary
We are recruiting a Research Analyst in the Electronic Trading and Execution Research team of the Global Capital Markets group of the Public Market Investments department. The Global Capital Markets group is primarily responsible for all public market execution on behalf of the CPP Investment Board. The Electronic Trading and Execution Research team is focused on two topics:
- Automating execution through electronic connections and employing short term algorithmic trading strategies
- Evaluating and analyzing the executions of Global Capital Markets to monitor and improve performance
Role-Specific Accountabilities
- The primary responsibility is to assist in various research projects:
- Building systems to store and analyze extremely large datasets
- Data cleansing algorithms
- Short term algorithmic modeling
- Electronic execution strategies
If you possess the following, we’d like to hear from you:
- A very strong research background
- Completed a Phd or doctorate in Mathematics, Physics etc.
- Experience with C++ or another high level language is also an asset
- Experience with some of the following is an asset: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, VBA
- Strong Computer Science/ Programming background
- Self motivated and is able to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
- Knowledge of financial markets would be an additional asset:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; articulates complex information logically, clearly and factually
- Ability to work as part of a team in a high-performance culture; actively participates in team meetings, cooperates and shares information to contribute to the effectiveness of the team
